Fleur Blanc (フレア・ブラン Furea Buran) is a character in Eureka Seven: AO. She is an IFO pilot of Alleluia as a member of Team Pied Piper of Generation Bleu. While she generally refuses to admit it, she holds romantic feelings for Ao.
Character[]
Fleur is a French girl who has pale skin and long blonde hair. Her uniform has blue highlights. She is aware of her prowess as a pilot and is prideful and headstrong.
She has a blog that she updates regardless of the situation around her. Elena and herself are held as some form of idols by people, as they are of an exclusive group of children who pilot IFOs. She was also part of a TV series with Elena up until it was canceled during the incident with the formation of the Quartz Cannon.
It is revealed that she is actually the daughter of Generation Bleu's president, Christophe Blanc, who she shares an estranged relationship with due to the death of her mother.
After her father dies during the Allied Forces and Truth's attack on the Generation Bleu headquarters, she takes over as the current CEO which was negotiated by her father with Japan and the Secrets prior to his death.

Fleur and Ao after the mission in Episode 8
Initially, Fleur saw Ao as a foolish and reckless IFO pilot, frequently critiquing him for any mistakes he made while on missions. She directly told Ao that the President was after Nirvash, and not him. She also wasn't convince by any action Ao took. She started to change her attitude towards Ao after he destroyed the Secret in South America. She started to respect him as a talented and formidable pilot, as well as a teammate. Their bond would grow during the mission in Faisal Arabia, where they worked together to help save the people there.
In episode 7, she and Elena showed great concern and care for Ao when he was placed in a coma after the Nirvash crashed. In the three days he was unconscious, Fleur and Elena sat next to him in the hospital room until he awoke. She also showed concern for Ao’s feelings when, despite Rebecca telling her not to mention it, she told him about Naru’s kidnapping.
Ao insists on Fleur not fighting the Secret alone.
In Episode 8, during the mission, Ao is disappointed in Ivica's decision to follow the order from Generation Blue's President to cancel there mission. He left and ran to the outskirts of Faisal Arabia, and soon Fleur chased after him. Finding some mutual anger for their fathers, she revealed the reason why she hates her father, Generation Bleu's President Christophe Blanc. Ivica found them and said that their mission will resume. As they fought the Secret, Fleur told Ao that she will destroy the Secret no matter what happens to her, but Ao insisted that she's not allowed to die yet. Fleur blushed and both of them destroyed the Secret. Touched by Ao’s demand for her to stay alive, Fleur began to develop a crush on him. As the operation succeeds, Fleur praises Ao and they became friends after the mission.

In Episode 9, Fleur and Elena save Ao from drowning after he destroyed the Secret. Elena teased Fleur with what she said before, that she would not save Ao if he were to drown.

In Episode 11, after encountering the Unknown Secret, Fleur teases Ao about his "little girlfriend" Naru, and Ao says they are just friends. Elena then teases Fleur that she has someone she likes too, which everyone overheard, to Fleur's annoyance.
In episode 12, Fleur continued to show her care for Ao. When it was revealed that the lack of Trappars in space would limit his flying capabilities, Fleur, instead of criticizing Ao like she would have before, promised to provide support for him. Ao was touched by her support. Even though it was revealed that Ao was a Coralian, Fleur’s opinion did not change and showed disgust at the idea of abandoning simply because of this. This shows that she saw him as a person regardless of his species or origins, Later, when it appeared Ao was doomed to falling into the atmosphere and disintegrating, Fleur begged her father to do something. This shows just how much she had come to care for Ao, as she was willing to plead with her father for help, despite her intense hatred for him at the time. When Christophe told her there was nothing she could do, Fleur couldn’t hold back her tears and refused to abandon him. She was shown to be greatly relieved when Ao survived.
Christophe saves Ao and Fleur from Truth
Initially as the story progresses Fleur show some concerns to Ao especially when Ao and Eureka met. She also develop a dislike for Eureka, believing that she made Ao’s life only more difficult. Later in Episode 19 the Generation Bleu was attacked by Truth which his father save them and entrust her daughter to Ao that he will take care of her then he goes inside of the lab and force to lock to activate the Fusion Blast which he sacrifice himself and supposely killed Truth.
In episode 20, when everyone learned that Christoph had made Fleur the president of Generation Blue, she was brought to tears. Sobbing uncontrollably, Fleur immediately leaned on Ao’s chest before leaning her whole face on his chest. This showed that she turned to Ao for comfort, finding his presence consoling. This further demonstrated her growing feelings for him.
Fleur and Ao farewell flight on Episode 24
On Episode 24 she was seen chasing Ao begging to stop going to his family which Ao had direct conversation to her saying that he will end everything and save his mother. As Ao wants to "say something to Fleur" the connection got lost indicates Ao got inside of Pillar of Light. Fleur cries and her IFO began booting for Third Engine. Her fate is unknown if she'd caught up to Ao. It indicates Fleur has love interest in Ao.
Fleur and Time-Leaping-Ao
On the Final OVA entitled: One More Time it reveals that history had been altered. Fleur and her mother were never fatally wounded in the car accident, so Christophe had never made the choice to sacrifice her mother's live for Fleur, and they always stay at good terms. Fleur's father, Christophe Blanc is also alive and tell her the day she met Ao (Time-Leaping) when she was a kid, she remembered it and Rebeceka shown some footages where and when Ao is always present on the scene indicating that they will save Ao. She took part in "Operation Astral Ocean" together with the real Elena Peoples, the latter as a teenager and currently an IFO Pilot to save Ao. In the difficult operation, she and Elena shot at Ao and Truth whom was dragged out from the light pillar earlier, allowing the Quartz's influences to be undone on them. She (apart from Elena) reunites with Ao.
