Trio — Maurice is on the left side. He is the tallest.

Maurice is one of Eureka's "children". He is about 8 years old, and is very protective of his "family" (Eureka, Maeter, and Linck).

When Eureka first found him and the children, he was huddled protectively around Maeter and Linck. Then, he sprang up and stretched out his arms, trying to protect Maeter and Linck.

He also, like his siblings, did not like Renton in the beginning of the story. Maurice would often join in on the younger children's pranks and negative attitude toward Renton. Later when the Gekko lands in a military base to upgrade the Nirvash, it is hinted that Maurice has stopped seeing Eureka as a mother and more as a crush as he tries to avoid looking at her and blushes when he does. After Renton, Eureka, and the children land on Earth, he holds Charles' gun at Renton when he sees him trying to console Eureka during her transformation. By the end of the anime series, however; he comes to terms with his jealousy of Renton and along the other children consider him their "Papa", and awaits their return with Renton's grandfather, Axel.

Maurice is the most reserved and responsible of the three children. Whenever Maeter and Linck become distressed and cry, he does not and attempts to console them. It is possible that, before Renton came along, he saw himself as a sort of father figure for his two siblings, or in the very least someone to look up to.

However, during the final episodes of the series, <span style="font-family:sans-serif;line-height:19.200000762939453px;">Maurice finally confronts and accepts the depth and permanence of Renton's feelings for Eureka, and accepts him not only for that but also as his father. This is shown in episode 50 when Maurice connects to the Nirvash and claims, "the only one who can save our mama is our papa!" (referring to Renton). In the epilogue part of episode 50, Maurice is seen wearing clothing resembling those worn by Renton when he went to save Eureka, possibly as a sign of adoration and respect.</span>
